Simply stunning - a look through the best of the project’s Bristol meadows

Perennials:

Bristol University Halls of Residence at Stoke Bishop (Location map: http://goo.gl/maps/fuVte)
The University’s meadow looking fabulous in late June - dominated by white Ox Eye Daisies (Leucanthemum vulgare), interspersed with purple spike of the bumblebees favourite, Viper’s Bugloss (Echium vulgare).

An early bumblebee (Bombus pratorum) approaching Viper’s Bugloss with swathes of Ox Eye Daisy in the background.

Horfield Common (Location map: http://goo.gl/maps/fuVte)
Looking great in mid-June with Ox Eye Daisies and Meadow Buttercup (Ranunculus acris)

Pretty in pink as the Musk Mallow (Malva moschata) comes into flower in late June.

Annuals
Little Mead Primary School, Southmead (Location map: http://goo.gl/maps/fuVte)
A stunning riot of colours for the children, staff and passersby to enjoy at the moment - as well as the pollinators!

St George Park (Location: http://goo.gl/maps/fuVte)

The pinks and whites of Cosmos (Cosmos bipinnatus) were looking fabulous last week, with splashes of red and orange from the Red Poppies (Papaver rhoeas) and California Poppies, purple from the Cornflower (Centaurea cyanus) and yellows from the Pot Marigolds (Calendula officinalis).

Greenfield E-ACT Primary Academy, Knowle (Location map: http://goo.gl/maps/fuVte)

The school’s meadow has recently started to flower and looked great last week - the Pot Marigolds are doing particularly well here!
